It’s been a while.
This is our first blog for a while now, but we thought we would let everyone know what we have been up to during the last year.
As it was for so many others, 2020 was a difficult year for us at Market Cross. But we knew what we had to do. Look to the future and plan for the day we would reopen. With the time to do it, what with being closed, we decided we needed to make a number of changes.
What have we been doing?
As we went into lockdown for the first time, Northumberland County Council began to offer courses to small businesses. We immediately signed up to as many as we could. The aim was of learning more about the importance of Social Media and how we could use it to our best advantage. With the knowledge learned we have progressed our social media platforms. We have increased our followers and increased our online presence. We continue to do so and now include our own videos and Instagram Reels to showcase Amandas recipe testing. Of course we also try to show off the beautiful views this area is famous for.
We also learned how to produce full videos and Market Cross now has its own Youtube channel. This is where our guests questions about “how do you do that” are answered. Amanda also gives cookery tips and will be working her way through many of the recipes she uses daily. She shows you how to produce the wonderful food we provide at Market Cross. There are also videos on where to go in the area and we will be adding to these over time. We’d love you to have a look. You can see all the videos so far by going to Youtube and searching for Market Cross Guest House. You can also go to our Facebook and Instagram and Twitter feeds and follow us.
Needless to say, Amanda has also been very busy producing new and varied recipes for our breakfast menus and evening meals. Being chief taster for this has been difficult but someone had to do it.
Looking to the future
We will now be regularly posting blogs on a variety of subjects from suppliers to restaurants to attractions. We are very much looking forward to the day we can open fully again and welcome guests, old and new to our Bed and Breakfast in beautiful Northumberland.
Until then we hope you are all well.
